Aarogya Life Restoration

Childhood cancers make up less than 1% of all cancers diagnosed each year. While it is rarely diagnosed at early stages, after accidents, cancer is the second leading cause for death in children at the age of 1 to 14.

Cancer in children can be hard to recognize right away because early symptoms are often like caused by much more common illnesses or injuries. Children often get sick or have bumps or bruises that might mask the early signs of cancer. Even though there is no consensus among experts on the causes of child cancer, yet, the general factor shall certainly be the air we breathe, the food we eat and where we life. In other words, our living conditions!

We are well aware of the desperate situation of the living conditions of underprivileged in India. Be it rural India or urban slums, the conditions of infrastructure exposes a child to a number of environmental factors which can be linked with childhood cancers. Some studies have also suggested that some parental exposures (such as smoking) might #increase a child’s risk of certain cancers.

Family of such poor child patients have meager or no income and when it comes to health, they hardly possess anything to even afford primary checkups as they don’t have access to any medical facility nor government has been able to extend its support to many such patients and if we talk about private hospitals, they are very difficult to afford.

This is the time when a role of Non Government organizations comes into place; we come forward with the best of tools and methods through which we can serve Child patients suffering from Cancer. The parents of such children are usually aware from a long about their children’s condition but when it comes to provide them with the treatment, they are incapable to afford the cost of the medical treatment. This leads to worsening the life of children and making their parents depressed about the fact that they couldn’t support their children’s life. In this direction, PSF has taken the pledge to support children suffering from Cancer in order to ensure the complete survival of the children.

Under the Phase I of our program, “Heart Energize”, we provided for full funding of the expenses of medical treatment of children suffering from Heart defects like Atrial Septal Defect and Ventricular Septal Defect. Since the inception of the program in 2011, 80 children has benefitted from this program through treatment at G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi. Moreover, since June 2017, we have being going an extra mile by extending state of art medical treatment to critical cases at reputed hospitals of Delhi NCR like Fortis Memorial Research Institute , Gurugram and Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad. At our current bandwidth, we are capable to provide for upto 3-4 cases per month.
